Soda has been officially disrupted. But it hasn’t been replaced. Just relegated to a certain time and place, as a particular kind of indulgence that isn’t particularly social. It’s the drive-thru order. The gopuff add-on. The sandwich sidekick. The taco stand staple. If we see it in a glass bottle. If we’re on the road. At the movies. Or the beach.
After all, it’s intertwined with our pastimes. Our culture. Our collective memory. Perhaps it’s true that our palates have become more sophisticated, favoring the natural, subtle and light. But, as we seek out better beverage flavors and new fizzy treats, there might just be some taste buds that still yearn for an old flame. It’s the part of us that wants to know the pure joy of bubbly sweet satisfaction once again.
We have the opportunity to help people rediscover the joys of soda in a healthier form that will play a more supportive role in their lives: as an alcohol alternative, a mixer, a new flavor experience to explore and a treat that’s all the more pleasurable because it fully aligns with who we are now and what we value, naturally and organically.
And there couldn’t be a better time for it. As we reemerge from the pandemic, we’re all starting a new chapter of life together. And figuring out what that means for us as individuals. We’ll be seeking perspectives. As we do, Uchie can help us move towards what is sweet and satisfying because it tastes good, but also because it feels good.
